Welkom by Rewolusie.com. Die Rewolusie het begin.

Die doelwitte van Rewolusie.com is om:

1. ‘n Eerste stap te gee in die gebruik van nuwe tegnologie vir die verspreiding van musiek deur nie-konvensionele metodes op ‘n wettige, veilige manier.
2. ‘n Verkoopsplatform vir ongetekende musikante te bied waar hulle hul musiek direk aan die publiek kan verkoop – as digitale media of as cd’s wat direk verkoop kan word. Jy kan nou weer soos in die ou dae ‘n single bekendstel aan die publiek sonder dat jy ‘n hele cd hoef te laat vervaardig. Rewolusie.com het egter nie net ten doele om vir ongetekende kunstenaars ‘n voertuig te skep vir verspreiding nie, maar ook om platemaatskappye en gevestigde kunstenaars meer opsies te bied as wat die bestaande orde toelaat.
3. ‘n Forum te skep waar die publiek aan meer musiekstyle blootgestel kan word as wat op hierdie stadium beskikbaar is deur konvensionele verspreidingsmetodes.
4. ‘n Koppelvlak beskikbaar te stel waar musiek na die publiek beskikbaar is deur onkonvesionele prosesse. Jy hoef nie meer ‘n hele cd te produce en dan deur ‘n duur en tydrowende vervaardigingsprosesse te gaan nie. Jy kan ‘n single op ‘n keer vrystel totdat jy ‘n album gereed het om op cd vry te stel, en eers dan deur vervaardigingsprosesse gaan. Die publiek kan hul tien of twintig liedjies kies wat hulle wil koop van ‘n paar kunstenaars en nie hele cd’s te koop nie.
5. Gesamentlike bedinging te gebruik om lugspeeltyd vir ‘n groter luistertal te beding by die media, en gesamentlike bedinging te gebruik om laer vervaardigingskostes te beding.
6. Nasionale advertensieveldtogte vir die webblad en dus vir die kunstenaars op hierdie webblad te loods in die hoofstroom en ander media

Grondbeginsels

• ‘n Doelwit is dat musiek na die publiek meer bekostigbaar moet word. Deur middelmanne uit te sny is hierdie teiken redelik maklik haalbaar terwyl dit verseker dat ‘n groter persentasie van die wins in die hande van die musikante opeindig.
• Eksklusiwiteit sal nie vereis word van kunstenaars nie. Dit is die reg van enige musikant om sy distribusie na ‘n ander distribusiemaatskappy te neem indien hy of sy of hulle voel dat die diens nie gelewer word na wense nie.
• Die verkope sal plaasvind op basis van profytdeling. ‘n Spesifieke persentasie van bruto profyt per transaksie sal opsygesit word vir bemarking en advertensies. Uiteraard sal die hoeveelheid kapitaal wat spandeer word op bemarking groei soos wat die Aanvraag en transaksievolume groei.
• Alternative strome van inkomste sal genereer word om die inkomste van Rewolusie.com te ondersteun deur byvoorbeeld advertensies aan musikante, platemaatskappye of ander maatskappye te verkoop.
• Hierdie inisiatief is slegs gemik op die Suid-Afrikaanse mark, en ons sal slegs musiek hanteer wat van ‘n plaaslike adres verskeep kan word. Dit is vir praktiese redes alleenlik en om die oorplasing van fondse oor landsgrense te beperk.
• Die aanvanklike Rewolusie.com webblad sal begin met die verspreiding van Musiek, maar sal ook gebruik word vir die verkope van ander vorms van kuns in die afsienbare toekoms.

In die eerste fase word die volgende dienste aangebied:

1. Aanlyn verkope van musiek in aflaaibare vorm.
2. Aanlyn verkope van cd’s
3. Landingsblad wat meer vertel van jou/jou orkes wat gekoppel is aan die webwinkel. Hierdie diens is GRATIS, en die befondsing sal plaasvind uit ‘n profytgedeelte van die verkope.

Ten Spyte daarvan dat ons fokus op onafhanklike kunstyenaars is, sal ons ook met graagte met platemaatskappye saamwerk om hul kunstenaars aan die mark bekend te stel en 'n opwindende alternatiewe verspreidingskanaal tot hul beskikking stel.

Yeah righ - I know that is not how you spell revolution, so read on first

Actions speaks louder than words, and after contemplating what is happening in the South African entertainment industry for a while, we have introduced this new service from 1 January 2010.will

The purpose of rewolusie.com is to:

1. Phase one of a program to investigate and develop alternative multimedia distribution mechanisms.
2. Create a sales platform for unsigned and independent musicians where they can sell their music directly to the public as downloadable media or as traditional media such as cd’s or DVD’s . You can for example sell a single song like in the old days - without having to go to the expense of manufacturing a complete cd. Rewolusie.com is however not only focused on new artists but will also provide record companies and established artists alternative distribution mechanisms
3. Create a forum where the public can be exposed to more musical styles that can be encountered on the airwaves and through traditional media
4. Create an interface where music would be available legally through unconventional processes. You would no longer have to produce a complete cd, put it through manufacturing and release it through the conventional channels. A song can be released straight from the master mix to the customer. A musician can for instance release a single every month till a cd is complete, and only make the cd available at the end of of a year (as an example).
5. Use communal negotiation to increase airplay for participating artists and reduce costs of manufacturing of products and marketing material like music videos.
6. Run National advertising campaigns for Rewolusie.com and so for the artists participating in this facility. The marketing and advertising campaigns will focus on conventional and unconventional media.

Principles

• A key principle is that music to the public must become more accessible and more affordable, while simultaneously increasing the profits to the musicians. By removing middlemen from the supply chain, this target is feasible .

• Exclusivity will not be required from artists. It is the full right of an artist to terminate the agreement with Rewolusie.com if Rewolusie.com does not deliver on the services proposed or if an artist decides to distribute through conventional means. If the other party does not require exclusivity, an artist can make use of Rewolusie.com services as well to support their sales.
• Sales will take place based on profit sharing. A specific percentage of gross profit per transaction will be used for marketing and advertising of the website. The investment in marketing and advertising will grow as the increase in volume grows.
• Alternative streams of income will also be generated to support the cash-flow and visibility of Rewolusie.com. Options under consideration are selling advertisements on Rewolusie.com for specific artists, record companies and other companies.
• This initiative is aimed solely at the South African market and we will only sell music sourced from South Africa on this website. This is for practical reasons regarding exchange controls. We will however of course be happy to sell music to South Africans and other interested parties residing in other countries
• Even though the initial Rewolusie.com focus will be selling and distributing South African music, other forms of art will be available through this site shortly after launch.

The following services will be made available in Phase 1:

1. Online sales of downloadable music.
2. Online sales of cds and dvds.
3. A landing page that will allow the public to get to know more about your band or you as an artist. This service is FREE and will be financed through part of the profits of the sales web page.
